Jana Montgomery, Ph.D.

In the role of CEO, Jana acquires new clients and projects, presents at conferences, manages team dynamics, talent and company direction, and networks with professionals to grow our team of collaborators.
Jana has over 9 years' experience in mechanical engineering and design, movement biomechanics, and research. She got her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines and her Ph.D. in Biomechanics at the University of Colorado Boulder. Outside of her scientific expertise, Jana teaches at Colorado School of Mines. In her free time, she loves to be in the mountains with her pups hiking, climbing, skiing, or traveling.
Dan Feeney, Ph.D.
Co-Founder & CTO
As our CTO, Dan designs experimental protocols, procures equipment, and manages data collection and analysis. As a sponsored triathlete with both a B.S. and M.S. in Biomechanics and a Ph.D. in Neurophysiology, Dan has a unique insight into the sports industry.
Dan’s Ph.D. research under an international leader of neurophysiology research, Dr. Roger Enoka, at the University of Colorado - Boulder, furthered Dan’s physiology and mathematical skills. Dan serves as Lead Biomechanist at BOA in Denver. Dan’s passion for science, position as a brand ambassador for numerous companies and applicable expertise make him perfectly suited for the position of CTO.
Dan enjoys running, hiking, playing with puppies, and of course: all things science.
Co-Founder & Director of Marketing
As Director of Marketing, Simon creates and executes marketing strategy and new customer (client) acquisition plans for AIL. He also manages sales prospecting, client onboarding and management, reporting, and business operations.
Simon has five years of experience in sales operations and B2B, B2C and B2B2C marketing. Working at both small and large companies, Simon has had the opportunity to demonstrate his talents and engage with businesses and consumers on behalf of clients.
In his past, he competitively skied and performed martial arts. Now, as a Boulder resident, Simon enjoys backpacking, travel, all forms of skiing, and mountaineering.
Kara Ashcraft, BS, ACSM
Professional Climber & Research Scientist
A professional athlete and expert in human physiology, Kara is currently pursing a PhD in biomechanics at the University of Colorado, Boulder. With an innate curiosity and fascination with the human body and how it functions and moves, Kara is integrating the sport of climbing into her current research surrounding adaptive locomotion and prosthetics. Surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains, rock climbing has become both Kara's mediation and obsession.
Kara has over a decade of experience in performance training and clinical applications of human physiology. Her vast experience understanding human movement and optimizing performance perfectly suit her to lead research efforts for our clients looking to gain product insight through biomechanics testing.
